L'anesthésie

Explainer video
CHUV
2025

The CHUV is one of Switzerland's largest university hospitals. To help children navigate what can be an intimidating medical experience, Animai created a gentle animation designed to speak directly to young patients without being patronizing or frightening, all brought to life through a warm and engaging visual style.

The challenge

How do you explain anesthesia to a 6-year-old?

The challenge: explain everything without causing fear. The script, co-written by an anesthesiologist and the CHUV communications department, was restructured by our team with a clear goal: to make the invisible reassuring.

Our solution

An animation divided into chapters, with the option to pause between each one.

Why? Because a 5-minute film can sometimes be a long watch for a child, unless it can be viewed in five 1-minute segments. This allows for breaks, time to process the information, and space to ask questions.

The result: content that meets the expectations of medical professionals, modular sequences that are easy to share, and a child who is better prepared, less stressed, and better cared for.

We were able to rely on Animai's reliability at every stage, feeling truly listened to and understood throughout the scriptwriting process. The result makes the invisible reassuring, helping children feel better prepared before their surgery.
